Pro II or Duo?

Pro II has 4 mic preamps for 4 guests at the table. Duo has 2 and is roughly half the desk footprint. Get the Pro II when you regularly record more than 2 people, or want headroom for a guest and 2 callers.

Does the white version sound the same as the black?

Yes. Identical hardware and firmware. Colour is the only difference.

Do I need a computer to record?

No. It records multitrack to a microSD card on its own. Hook a computer up only when you want to stream live or pull stems off as separate WAVs.
