The focus ring on this lens has just the right amount of resistance for smooth pulls during interviews, and the sharpness wide open is stunning. It makes isolating my subject from the background effortless.

The T1.5 aperture lets in so much light I could shoot a candlelit dinner scene without any extra lights. Paired with the 75mm focal length on my M body, it gives that dreamy separation between subject and background for close-ups.

Bokeh is creamy enough that my interview subjects practically pop off the background, and the clickless aperture ring lets me ride exposure mid-take without a sound. The focusing throw is long but precise, which makes hitting the eyes at T1.5 feel deliberate rather than lucky.
